Challenge
The production floor included critical spaces, such as panel and system rooms housing high-value equipment, where water-based suppression was not suitable. These areas had to be integrated with a precise protection scheme that operates independently of the main sprinkler network.
Solution
While the production floor is protected by a standard wet sprinkler line, HFC-227 / FM-200 based gas suppression was designed for the system rooms and electrical panels. An addressable detection panel was commissioned to monitor the entire site from a single point; manual call points and strobe sirens were positioned to suit evacuation scenarios.
Outcome
An integrated protection scheme was delivered that keeps production continuity safe and ensures sensitive equipment is not damaged in a fire scenario. The system was commissioned together with fire department approval.
