Fire Hose Cabinet Systems

Fixed fire suppression equipment designed for fast, safe first-response firefighting. Brings fires under control at the incipient stage.

In short: A fire hose cabinet is fixed suppression equipment housing a hose, nozzle and valve, so personnel can make the first response to a fire. It connects to a pressurized line fed by the fire pump set and water tank. Özaydın Yangın positions indoor and outdoor cabinets by building plan and regulatory thresholds so hose reach covers the whole protected area.

01 — Overview

About the system

Our engineering approach to this part of fire safety, and the details that matter.

Fire hose cabinet systems are fixed fire suppression equipment designed to allow fast, safe first-response firefighting. By bringing a fire under control at the incipient stage, they help protect lives and minimize property loss. Because trained personnel can use them effectively until the fire department arrives, they significantly limit the growth of a fire.

A fire hose cabinet system is an integrated system made up of a fire pump set, fire water tank, pressurized piping network, valve assemblies and fire hose cabinets. It is designed around the building's use, hazard class, floor plan and the regulations in force. Cabinet locations are set to give safe access to every point in the building, and the necessary hydraulic calculations ensure the system always operates at adequate pressure.

Fire hose cabinets are not just a piece of equipment; they are an important part of fire safety. They must be kept ready for use at all times through regular maintenance and periodic inspection, and they serve a very wide range of applications, from industrial facilities and commercial buildings to schools and healthcare institutions.

02 — Solution Types

3 solutions, each for a specific need

Engineered system options selected by occupancy, hazard class and building architecture, backed by design calculations.

01

Indoor Fire Hose Cabinets

Placed in corridors, escape routes and floor lobbies so fires can be fought inside the building as quickly as possible.

Indoor fire hose cabinets are placed at easily accessible points such as corridors, escape routes, production areas, common areas and floor lobbies so a fire can be fought inside the building as quickly as possible. They can be built as recessed or surface-mounted units to suit the building's architecture.

Depending on need, electrostatically painted sheet-steel cabinets or decorative models can be specified. Each cabinet holds the fire hose, nozzle, valve and all required connection equipment. Hose lengths of 20 meters or 30 meters are selected according to use, so the protection areas required by regulations are fully covered.

Placed according to correct design, indoor fire hose cabinets allow a quick response to any point in the building and are among the most important active fire safety equipment for preventing a fire from growing.

Outdoor Fire Hose Cabinets

Weather-resistant response equipment designed for use around the facility and in open areas.

Outdoor fire hose cabinets are durable response equipment designed for use around the facility or in open areas. They are installed in factories, organized industrial zones, storage yards, logistics centers and large campuses using materials suited to outdoor conditions.

These cabinets are designed to work together with the fire hydrant system and can hold the hose, nozzle, wrench, connection equipment and other auxiliary materials needed for first response. Their weather-resistant construction offers safe use for many years while giving quick access to equipment in an emergency.

When the layout plan is drawn up, the facility's size, access roads, high-risk production areas and fire department vehicle response scenarios are taken into account. The result is an effective, uninterrupted firefighting network across the entire facility.

Fire Extinguishers

Portable extinguishers for fast response to incipient fires, indispensable to active fire safety.

Portable fire extinguishers allow a fast response to incipient fires and are indispensable equipment in active fire safety. Extinguishers of the correct type prevent a fire from growing and stop larger risks from developing.

Depending on the area of use and fire class, units with dry chemical powder, foam, carbon dioxide (CO₂) and other special extinguishing agents are selected. Models in 6 kg, 12 kg and 50 kg capacities offer solutions for different operating needs. Wheeled 50 kg extinguishers, used in large-volume industrial areas, allow effective response across wide spaces.

It is essential to place extinguishers at the right points, maintain them periodically and keep them ready for use at all times. Planned together with fire hose cabinet systems, portable extinguishers help build a layered, reliable fire protection infrastructure in facilities.

Frequently Asked Questions

Fire Hose Cabinet Systems: frequently asked questions

Which buildings are required to have fire hose cabinets?

Under BYKHY (Turkish Fire Protection Regulation), fire hose cabinets are mandatory in manufacturing, workshop, warehouse, accommodation, healthcare and education buildings with a total usable area above 1,000 m², in enclosed car parks above 600 m², and in boiler rooms with a thermal capacity above 350 kW. High-rise buildings also require a cabinet system regardless of these thresholds. The exact obligation is confirmed at the design stage based on occupancy class and current regulatory thresholds.

What determines the cost of fire hose cabinets?

Cost depends on the number of cabinets, hose length (20 or 30 meters), cabinet type (surface-mounted, recessed, indoor or outdoor), body material, and whether the existing fire pump set and tank infrastructure is adequate. For outdoor cabinets, weather-resistant materials and integration with the hydrant line are additional cost items. The final price is set by the layout and hydraulic calculation on the building plan.

How often should fire hose cabinets be maintained?

We recommend a monthly visual check to confirm the hose, nozzle and valve are undamaged and accessible, a functional test every six months, and a full system verification once a year. Checks cover line pressure, whether the cabinet door opens, and that the folded hose is intact. Regular maintenance ensures the cabinet is found compliant in inspections and insurance audits.

Which standards are fire hose cabinets designed to?

Fire hose cabinets are designed to TS EN 671-1 (semi-rigid hose reel type) and TS EN 671-2 (lay-flat hose type); placement and spacing follow the coverage rules in BYKHY. A fire department water intake valve is required next to the cabinet. In line with these standards, Özaydın Yangın prepares a design package supported by hydraulic calculations and submits it for fire department approval.

How long does fire hose cabinet installation take?

Duration depends on the number of cabinets, the condition of the existing pipework, the number of floors, and whether the fire pump set and tank infrastructure is ready. Installing a limited number of cabinets on an existing pump line is completed much faster than in a facility that needs infrastructure from scratch. The exact schedule is set together with the site plan during design and site survey.
