Our fire protection approach on the Aksu Ahşap project

At wood processing facilities, fine chips and wood dust from cutting, planing, and sanding lines create an environment that ignites quickly when suspended in the air. If dust that has accumulated along the production line is ignited by a small spark, the flame can travel rapidly between machines and affect a large area within a short time. In wood production, early and automatic response is therefore far more critical than manual systems.

At the Aksu Ahşap production facilities, the sprinkler system was extended across production areas so that a fire is brought under control automatically at the moment it starts. Fire hose cabinets provide points where personnel can respond directly. The water reserve is supplied by the fire water tank, and the required pressure and flow by the pump set, ensuring a continuous, uninterrupted supply.

In the wood sector, periodic cleaning and maintenance of sprinkler heads and piping is especially important because of dust density, so that the system keeps its design performance. In projects with fire department approval like this one, regular testing of the sprinkler system is made possible by a maintenance plan carried out without stopping production.
