Our fire protection approach on the Tuğsan Sünger project

In foam manufacturing, shaping PU foam through a chemical reaction is a process that can produce high temperatures and combustible vapor on the production line. When this material ignites it burns extremely fast and gives off dense smoke that spreads quickly. The production line needs an infrastructure suited to this particular chemical process and capable of fast response.

At the Tuğsan Sünger production facility, an interior fire water infrastructure was installed against this risk. Accessible response points were created throughout the facility with fire hose cabinets, while the water reserve and operating pressure the system needs are provided by the fire water tank and fire pump set. This structure offers early, fast manual response to a possible fire on the foam production line.

The installation was completed with fire department approval, on an installation process planned without disrupting the production schedule. The system is tested regularly under a periodic maintenance contract aligned with BYKHY (Turkish Fire Protection Regulation). The fire hose cabinet system, the first response point on the production line, is a priority in this maintenance program.
