Our fire protection approach on the Alsancak project
In furniture manufacturing, finished-goods and shipping warehouses are areas where packaged products are stacked side by side at high density. A fire in these areas can spread quickly, aided by the packaging material, and put the entire pre-shipment stock at risk. At facilities where storage sits close to production lines, early detection and automatic suppression must work together to keep a fire in one section from reaching another.
At the Alsancak Mobilya facility, production and storage areas are protected by sprinklers and fire hose cabinets, and outdoor response is supported by the fire hydrant line. The water reserve and operating pressure the system needs are supplied by the fire water tank and pump set. Smoke control, detection and alarm solutions, and emergency exit provisions were also included, forming an integrated structure across the facility.
Periodic testing of the detection and alarm system ensures a fire is noticed before the sprinklers activate, especially in storage areas. Regular inspection of the detection and alarm infrastructure under a maintenance contract is necessary to keep fire department approval valid.
