Our fire protection approach on the My Massa project

The foam filling and fabric covering materials used in upholstered furniture manufacturing are combustible, igniting rapidly and producing dense smoke. Processing large quantities of these materials together at upholstery stations on the production line raises the risk of a spark spreading over a wide area in a short time. Early detection is vital in these sections.

At the Mymassa Mobilya production facility, automatic sprinkler protection is supported by fire hose cabinets, while the response network outside the site was built through a hydrant line. With the water reserve and pressure boosting system, smoke vents, fire alarm and emergency exit signage were commissioned, shortening response time against the filling material risk on the upholstery line.

The project was completed with fire department approval, on an installation plan that avoided interrupting the production process. The system is inspected regularly under a periodic maintenance contract aligned with BYKHY (Turkish Fire Protection Regulation). The fire detection and alarm systems that enable early detection on the upholstery line are a priority in these checks.
