Our fire protection approach on the Aypan Mobilya project

In large workshops and multi-shift furniture facilities, evacuating personnel safely and in an orderly way during a fire is as important a safety element as suppression. The long, compartmentalized layout of the production line can cause smoke and heat to accumulate in certain corridors, which can reduce the visibility and passability of escape routes. Evacuation routes therefore need to be planned at the same time as the suppression system.

At the Aypan facilities, sprinkler and fire hose cabinet lines protect interior areas, while the hydrant system extends outdoor response capacity. System integrity was achieved with the pump-and-tank set, smoke venting, and electronic alarm infrastructure; smoke vents help keep escape routes visible and passable during a fire.

Keeping escape routes clear and testing smoke vents under the maintenance contract ensure the evacuation plan, approved by the fire department, works in a real incident. Regular inspection of evacuation systems is therefore indispensable.
