Our fire protection approach on the Koltaba project
In furniture manufacturing, finished goods storage areas before shipment, with cardboard packaging and stretch film, are zones with a high fire load. A fire that starts here can spread quickly among stacked products and directly affect shipping flow. Because the storage yard is in regular use, suppression and evacuation systems must always remain accessible.
At the Koltaba Home facility, the sprinkler installation and fire hose cabinets support effective response in production and storage areas, while the hydrant line covers the outside of the site. Fed by the water tank and fire pump set, the system is completed with smoke ventilation, detection and emergency exit measures, protecting both products and employees.
The system was commissioned with fire department approval on an installation schedule that did not disrupt shipping operations. It is tested regularly under a periodic maintenance contract aligned with BYKHY (Turkish Fire Protection Regulation). The evacuation systems that ensure employees' safe exit are a priority in these checks.
