Our fire protection approach on the Babite project
In furniture manufacturing, paint and varnish booths are among the areas most sensitive to sparks because of the solvent vapor released during surface finishing. If vapor accumulated in the booth meets a heat source, it can cause a rapid and violent flash fire that also endangers nearby production and storage areas. Including paint booths in automatic suppression coverage is therefore a basic requirement of production safety.
At the Babite Mobilya factory, integrated solutions were implemented to protect production and storage areas against fire. The automatic sprinkler network, fire hose cabinets, and outdoor hydrants are arranged to meet different response needs. In addition to the water source and pressurization equipment, smoke venting, detection and alarm, and emergency exit provisions are part of the project scope.
Periodic testing of sprinkler heads and detection sensors around the paint booth is necessary for the continuity of the system approved by the fire department. Regular inspection of the sprinkler system under the maintenance contract is carried out with planning that does not stop production.
