Our fire protection approach on the Sahabe Ahşap project
In wood processing facilities, lumber and board stock held in the raw material warehouse carries a high fire load per volume and, being dried material, ignites easily. These warehouses' proximity to the production line can let a fire that starts in one section jump to the other in a short time. It is important that warehouse layout does not limit the chance of early response.
At the Sahabe Ahşap facilities, the sprinkler system provides automatic response in the production areas while fire hose cabinets and the hydrant network support access across the site. In addition to the fire pump set and water tank, smoke control, early alarm and evacuation signage complete the safety scope against the dense material stock in the raw material warehouse.
The system was commissioned with fire department approval on an installation process planned without disrupting the production schedule. It is tested regularly under a periodic maintenance contract aligned with BYKHY (Turkish Fire Protection Regulation). The fire detection and alarm systems that enable early detection in the raw material warehouse are a priority in these checks.
