Our fire protection approach on the Baykan Mobilya project

In furniture workshops, narrow and compartmentalized work areas can make it harder for response crews to reach a fire. Chips and packaging waste accumulating in narrow corridors along the production line can allow a fire to jump quickly to neighboring sections. At such facilities, it is especially important that response points are close to every work area and easy to reach.

At the Baykan Mobilya production facility, a water-based protection infrastructure was installed to increase fire response capacity. Accessible response points are provided indoors by fire hose cabinets, and the site perimeter is supported by a fire hydrant line. The required water volume and pressure are supplied by the fire water tank and pump set.

Keeping the area in front of fire hose cabinets clear in narrow work areas and checking the equipment periodically allows the system, approved by the fire department, to be used quickly in a real incident. Regular inspection of the fire hose cabinet system under the maintenance contract is therefore important.
