Our fire protection approach on the Okra Masa Sandalye project

In table and chair manufacturing, wood chips that accumulate at cutting, drilling and sanding stations form a layer of fine dust that ignites easily when ventilation is insufficient. Because the production line runs continuously and in series, this buildup must be checked regularly. The risk of a spark growing quickly in a chip-heavy zone raises the importance of early response.

At the Okra Mobilya factory, the sprinkler system takes on the automatic response role while fire hose cabinets and hydrants form complementary response points. The fire water source and pressure boosting equipment provide an infrastructure that is always ready against a possible fire on the chip-heavy production line, and smoke vents and alarm systems were integrated with emergency exit signage.

The project was completed with fire department approval, on an installation process planned without stopping the production line. The system is tested regularly under a periodic maintenance contract covering BYKHY (Turkish Fire Protection Regulation) requirements. The sprinkler system, which provides automatic protection on chip-heavy lines, is the priority item in this maintenance program.
