Our fire protection approach on the Efal Mobilya project
On furniture production lines, press and shaping machines are prone to heating because of their continuously running motors and hydraulic units. Wood dust and cutting residue accumulated around these machines can ignite quickly in an overheating event. Point risks like these, scattered along the production line, call for both automatic and manual response options to be available together.
At Efal Mobilya production areas, a comprehensive infrastructure was installed to allow both automatic and manual response to a fire. In addition to the sprinkler installation and fire hose cabinets, outdoor hydrants diversify the response points. The fire pump set and water tank supply the system's demand, while detection, smoke venting, and exit signage complete the safety package.
Regular cleaning of dust buildup around the press line and periodic inspection of sprinkler heads preserve the reliability of the system approved by the fire department. Testing the sprinkler system under the maintenance contract is therefore important.
