Our fire protection approach on the Çinkom project

The chemical solutions used on metal surface coating and processing lines, together with the heat generated during processing, create a risk that must be managed carefully. High temperatures on coating lines can turn into an unexpected fire when they meet nearby combustible materials or chemical vapors. At facilities with chemical process lines, indoor and outdoor response infrastructure should therefore be addressed together.

At the Çinkom facility, indoor and outdoor fire response infrastructure were addressed together. Fire hose cabinets provide first-response points in enclosed areas, while the hydrant line strengthens access around the site. The system's water reserve and pressure demand are supplied by the fire water tank and pump set.

Periodic maintenance and pressure checks of fire hose cabinets near the coating lines preserve the reliability of the system approved by the fire department. Regular testing of the fire hose cabinet system under the maintenance contract is therefore a priority.
