Our fire protection approach on the Kayplas project

In plastics manufacturing, processing the material at temperatures near its melting point can lead to both rapid flame growth and dense, toxic smoke in a fire. Raw material granules on the production line and packaging materials in finished goods storage add to the fire load. In these conditions, both early response and effective smoke control must be provided together.

At the Kayplas Plastik facility, the sprinkler network, fire hose cabinets and hydrant system build response capability inside and outside the site. The fire pump set and water tank keep these lines running continuously, smoke vents help quickly remove the dense smoke that can form during production, and detection and emergency evacuation solutions support safe exit.

The project was completed with fire department approval, on an installation plan that did not interrupt production. The whole system is inspected regularly under a periodic maintenance contract aligned with BYKHY (Turkish Fire Protection Regulation). The evacuation systems that quickly clear dense smoke are given particular priority in these inspections.
