Our fire protection approach on the Rainbow project

In polycarbonate manufacturing, the material's processing temperature and the high volume of material in raw material and finished goods storage areas together carry the risk of rapid spread and dense smoke in a fire. The close positioning of the production line and storage areas can let a fire that starts in one section jump to the other in a short time. In these conditions, early detection must work with equal sensitivity across the entire line.

At the Rainbow Polikarbon production facility, sprinkler and fire hose cabinet systems provide active protection in the production areas while the hydrant line supports response from outside the site. The fire pump set and water tank were integrated with smoke vents, alarm infrastructure and emergency exit systems, covering the heavy material risk in raw material and finished goods storage areas.

The project was completed with fire department approval, on an installation process planned so production continuity was not affected. The system is inspected regularly under a periodic maintenance contract aligned with BYKHY (Turkish Fire Protection Regulation). The fire detection and alarm systems that enable early detection in storage areas are a priority in these checks.
