Our fire protection approach on the Erten İplik project
In yarn production, bobbins and raw material bales stocked before shipment create an environment where, because of the structure of textile fibers, flame spreads faster than normal. A fire starting in stock areas can feed on the airflow between bobbins and reach a large volume in a short time. The early detection capacity of shipping and stock sections must therefore be kept at the same level as the production line.
At the Erten İplik production facility, priority was given to early fire detection and fast response in areas holding textile raw materials. The sprinkler network provides automatic suppression, while fire hose cabinets and the hydrant line increase manual response capacity. The water supply set, smoke venting, alarm, and exit signage together form a comprehensive safety infrastructure.
Periodic testing of detection sensors in stock areas ensures a fire is noticed before the sprinklers activate. In this system, approved by the fire department, regular inspection of the detection and alarm infrastructure under the maintenance contract is recommended.
