Our fire protection approach on the Özge Çorap project
In fiber and sock manufacturing, yarn and fiber bales stacked in the raw material warehouse carry a high fire load per volume. The porous structure of these materials can let a spark ignite quickly and smoke spread densely. The warehouse's proximity to the production line raises the risk that a fire could affect the whole facility in a short time.
At the Özge Elyaf facilities, the sprinkler system supports early response to a possible fire while fire hose cabinets and outdoor hydrants increase response options. In addition to the fire pump set and water tank, smoke vents, early detection and evacuation systems are active throughout the facility, especially against the dense material stock in the raw material warehouse.
The system was commissioned with fire department approval on an installation plan that did not disrupt the production flow. It is tested regularly under a periodic maintenance contract aligned with BYKHY (Turkish Fire Protection Regulation). The fire detection and alarm systems that enable early detection of the dense material stock in the raw material warehouse are a priority in these checks.
