Our fire protection approach on the Ferçim project

At industrial facilities where production and storage functions run together, personnel being able to exit quickly and safely during a fire is as critical a safety requirement as suppression. If the structure is multi-story or compartmentalized, longer escape distances pose a risk that can extend evacuation time. Alongside response systems, escape infrastructure should therefore be planned with the same rigor.

At the Ferçim facility, a comprehensive fire safety infrastructure was built by addressing fire response and safe evacuation needs together. Interior response points are supported by fire hose cabinets, and outdoor protection is provided by a fire hydrant line. The fire water tank and pump set supply the required water reserve and operating pressure. Emergency exit doors and fire escape stairs complete the provisions for safe evacuation of personnel.

Keeping the area in front of emergency exit doors and fire escape stairs clear is a point inspected regularly under the periodic maintenance contract. In this project, approved by the fire department, testing the evacuation routes is of great importance.
