Our fire protection approach on the Lark Gıda project
In food production facilities, the oils used on cooking and frying lines are a risk factor that ignites easily at high temperatures. In addition, cardboard and plastic materials in the packaging warehouse can let a fire in the production area grow quickly. Because of food safety requirements, it is also important that suppression systems operate without compromising production hygiene.
At the Lark Gıda facility, the sprinkler system and fire hose cabinets form the response infrastructure indoors, while the hydrant line provides additional access around the site. Supported by the fire pump set and water tank, the system was integrated with smoke control and emergency guidance covering both the production area and the packaging warehouse.
The installation was planned so as not to disrupt the production calendar and completed as a project approved by the fire department. The system is inspected regularly under a periodic maintenance contract aligned with BYKHY (Turkish Fire Protection Regulation). The sprinkler system, the first response point on the production line, is a priority in this maintenance program.
