Our fire protection approach on the Tuğra Makine project

In machine manufacturing, sparks from welding, cutting and grinding stations combine with surrounding oil and metal shaving residue to create a fast ignition risk. The placement of heavy equipment on the production line can create narrow aisles that limit access to a fire. In these conditions, response points must always be accessible and ready.

At the Tuğra Makine production facility, an interior fire water infrastructure was installed against this risk. Accessible response points were created throughout the facility with fire hose cabinets, while the water reserve and operating pressure the system needs are provided by the fire water tank and fire pump set. This structure offers fast manual response from points close to the welding and cutting lines.

The system was completed with fire department approval, on an installation schedule planned without stopping production. Under a periodic maintenance contract covering BYKHY (Turkish Fire Protection Regulation) requirements, the pump set and line pressure are tested regularly. The mechanical systems that ensure the continuity of the water source are a priority in these checks.
