Our fire protection approach on the Yayla Sünger project

In foam manufacturing, the storage yards where finished blocks are kept are risk areas where large volumes can burn quickly because of the material's light, porous structure. A fire that starts among stacked foam blocks can spread faster than normal thanks to the material's low density. The storage yard's proximity to the production line requires the protection system to cover both zones.

At the Yayla Sünger factory, systems that together support early detection, fast response and safe evacuation were installed, taking into account the fire load of the materials used in production. The sprinkler installation protects the production areas while fire hose cabinets and the hydrant network offer response from different points. The fire water tank and pump set infrastructure was integrated with smoke vents, fire detection and alarm, and emergency exit solutions, creating a comprehensive safety structure against the risk in the foam storage yard.

The system was completed with fire department approval, on an installation schedule planned without disrupting production and storage activity. It is inspected regularly under a periodic maintenance contract aligned with BYKHY (Turkish Fire Protection Regulation). The fire detection and alarm systems that enable early detection in the storage yard are a priority in these checks.
